Frustrated Klopp gets defensive over Liverpool form

Jurgen Klopp has come out in defence of Liverpool’s current form as he prepares his men to take on Leicester again this weekend.

Liverpool have endured a tough start to the new campaign after much summer optimism.

The Reds’ problems started with the 5-0 hammering at Manchester City, while draws followed against Sevilla and Burnley before the League Cup exit at the hands of Leicester on Tuesday night.

Klopp, however, has defended his side in his press conference ahead of Saturday’s re-match with Craig Shakespeare’s Foxes.

“It sounds like we have nil points and are the worst team in the league.

“I understand 100 percent we talk about it here.

“I already know the problems and have already decided what to do.

“By talking about it I only create headlines.”

The Reds chief also thinks he has the right players to help turn their problems around.

“We have proved it already hundreds of times. We obviously have problems that’s why we have only eight points and not fifteen,” he added.

“We can take it like it is. We still have work to do.

“Yes we have the right characters. Sometimes we react well, other times not perfectly. We can improve.

“Character is nothing fixed. You can’t say you cannot change your mentality, of course we can.”
