Midfielder Will Hatfield has returned to Accrington on trial after being released by Leeds, and he is hoping to earn a permanent deal.
The 20-year-old midfielder made four appearances for Stanley during a loan spell from Elland Road earlier this season.
Since leaving the Championship club, Hatfield has turned out for FC Halifax in the Blue Square Bet North, but has been offered a route back to full-time football by Crown Ground caretaker manager Leam Richardson.
Hatfield is in contention for selection if Tuesday's reserve clash with Wigan in the Lancashire Cup beats the weather and will be hoping to press his case for a permanent stay with Stanley.
