AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown thanked Lady Luck for her hand in his side's 2-0 win over Torquay.
Rashid Yussuff came off the bench to net the opener as the Dons enjoyed an impressive victory over their high-flying guests, with George Moncur scoring the second, but Yussuff would not have played a part had it not been for an injury to one of his team-mates in the warm-up.
"If the goalkeeper had not got injured in the warm up then Yussuff wouldn't have been involved in the squad, you could say fate played quite a big hand in that," Brown said.
"We were delighted with our first half because we haven't been playing that well and are playing a team that's got a good chance of getting automatic promotion, who don't concede goals and are on a tremendous run and have beaten us 4-0 before.
"So we were more than happy at half-time, we knew we would have to work hard for our first goal and Torquay certainly made us work hard for it.
"When you've had the threat of relegation hanging over you for the past few months and you get to that safety spot then you can relax."
