Marcus Gayle has left his role as AFC Wimbledon's reserve-team boss to take his first steps in management in the Blue Square South.

The Dons legend, who played for both Wimbledon and AFC Wimbledon before going into coaching, has been named the new manager of Blue Square South club Staines Town.

Gayle made 285 appearances for Wimbledon between 1994 and 2001, scoring 47 goals, and six years later he became Terry Brown's first signing as manager of the Dons.
