Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth has signed Darren Murphy on a month's loan from Stevenage.

The 26-year-old midfielder, who began his career in his native Ireland, joined Boro in 2008 but has failed to make a first-team appearance this season.

Holdsworth said: "Darren is a player who I have tracked for some time. We have monitored his situation.

"He is a player who has experienced success in his career and won medals. He will also bring some honest steel to the squad too."
