Brighton sign ‘exciting’ attacker Simon Adingra and could turn to Man City starlet next

Simon Adingra on the move

Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the signing of Ivorian attacker Simon Adingra on a contract until 2026.

The 20-year-old winger has become the latest young prospect to sign up for Brighton. He has agreed to a four-year contract after completing a transfer from Nordsjaelland.

During his time with the Danish club, Adingra scored 12 goals from 40 appearances – including a goal on his senior debut in April 2021. Now, he is ready for the next step in his career.

Reports have indicated that the transfer fee is in the region of £6m, although Brighton have not confirmed it.

Their technical director David Weir told the club website: “We’re delighted to welcome Simon to the club – he’s an exciting young player who has had a terrific start to his career in Denmark.

“He’s a creative offensive player who can play on both sides and is very good in one-on-one situations.

“He’s a talented young player who we’ve had an eye on for a while, and we’re looking forward to helping him with his development.”

Brighton’s plans for him remain to be seen. Perhaps he could go out on loan to develop, but only time will tell what might happen.

They have four years to work with him, so they will be hoping their investment pays off.

Simon Adingra could be followed to Brighton by Man City starlet

Man City boss Pep Guardiola with Liam Delap

And Adingra might not be the last young forward Brighton add this summer. According to the Daily Mail, Albion are interested in Manchester City striker Liam Delap.

They could take the centre-forward on loan for the season, which could come into the equation while the champions attempt to sign Marc Cucurella in the opposite direction.

At the age of 19, Delap could be ready to develop away from the Etihad Stadium. Brighton could be a good landing spot, since he would have a better chance of gametime.

City have signed Erling Haaland and Julian Alvares this summer, so it would benefit Delap to find gametime elsewhere. Perhaps Brighton could be an appealing choice.
