TEAMtalk runs the rule over Stoke's goalless draw with Arsenal at The Britannia on Sunday lunchtime and dishes out its player ratings.

STOKE

ASMIR BEGOVIC 7 - Not much to do but did well to keep out a fierce Cazorla strike in first half.

ANDY WILKINSON 5 - Struggled early on after bright start from Podolski and booked for shocking challenge on Vermaelen.

ROBERT HUTH 6 - Booked early on for challenge on Cazorla but kept Giroud fairly quiet.

RYAN SHAWCROSS 7 - Commanding presence and never really troubled throughout.

MARC WILSON 7 - Solid display, keeping the ineffective Gervinho quiet.

JERMAINE PENNANT 5 - Not at his best and was replaced by Jerome. Fuming after having penalty appeal turned down following challenge from Gibbs.

GLEN WHELAN 6 - Neat and tidy but failed to get on top of the impressive Cazorla. Replaced by Palacios late on.

GEOFF CAMERON 6 - Excellent workrate but not enough quality from USA international. Long throws came to nothing.

MICHAEL KIGHTLY 6 - In and out of the game but showed some nice touches at times and worked hard.

JON WALTERS 5 - Started up front, finished on the left but had a shocker - missing a decent chance to win it when through on goal late on.

PETER CROUCH 6 - Held the ball up well but never had a sniff of goal and replaced by Shotton late on.

SUBS

CAMERON JEROME 6 - Fairly lively when he came on for Pennant (65) and could replace the ineffective Walters up front next time out.

RYAN SHOTTON - Replaced Crouch on 78 minutes but failed to make a mark on the game.

WILSON PALACIOS - On for the tiring Whelan with nine minutes to go.

ARSENAL

VITO MANNONE 7 - Looked assured in his first display of the season, but he was rarely tested.

CARL JENKINSON 7 - Solid enough display from the full-back and spent most of the game on the front foot.

PER MERTESACKER 7 - Coped with aerial threat of Crouch and Walters effectively and looked dependable.

THOMAS VERMAELEN 7 - Didn't put a foot wrong at the back and used the ball well.

KIERAN GIBBS 7 - Kept a lid on Pennant as an attacking force and spent more time in Stoke's half of the field.

MIKEL ARTETA 6 - Disappointing with the ball and failed to have an impact on the game.

ABOU DIABY 7 - Kept the ball moving in central midfield and knitted Arsenal's midfield together.

SANTI CAZORLA 7 - Looked the most likely man to unlock the Stoke defence with a superb display of short-passing with both feet.

LUKAS PODOLSKI 6 - Started brightly and his powerful running was a threat to Stoke in the first half, but faded badly and was replaced on 72 minutes.

GERVINHO 5 - Failed to get himself in the game and did well to last until the 72nd minute.

OLIVIER GIROUD 6 - Had an uneventful game, but could have won it late on with an outrageous long-range lob from the touchline.

SUBS

THEO WALCOTT - Hardly had time to make an impact after replacing Gervinho on 72 minutes.

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN - Replaced Podolski 72 minutes and could not get involved.

AARON RAMSEY - One or two nice passes, but little time to impress after replacing Cazorla with nine minutes to go.
