Lee Bradbury had no complaints after Bournemouth's chances of a club record were shattered by Liam Ridehalgh's wonder goal for Chesterfield.
The Cherries had not lost away in the league for 11 games and were only two away from the record, but Ridehalgh's first-ever goal condemned them to a first defeat on the road since early September.
It was a superb strike and secured a win that lifted Chesterfield off the bottom of League One for the first time since November 5.
Bradbury admitted: "It took a great goal to open us and the keeper had no chance. I felt we gave it a good go for the last 25 minutes and their keeper made a couple of good saves.
"It would have been nice (to get the away record) and I would be lying if I said I didn't want to beat it but we move on and we are more than capable of going on another run the same as the one we have come out of.
"We didn't have as many chances as we normally have but I think that's credit to them, they got in our faces and made it difficult for us to play. We had long periods of possession and passed the ball but I felt we lacked a bit in the final third."
