Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Scunthorpe and Bournemouth at Glanford Park.

Scunthorpe could be boosted by the return of striker Garry Thompson.

Thompson has missed the last seven games with a groin injury, but returned to full training this week and could be in contention for the Iron's final home game.

But fellow forward Jon Parkin, on loan from Cardiff, and Everton winger Conor McAleny are still out.

Parkin has been sidelined for two games with a hamstring problem, while McAleny has returned to Goodison Park for treatment on a knee injury.

Midfield trio Michael Collins (Achilles), Damien Mozika (ankle) and Michael O'Connor (groin) remain sidelined - the latter is to undergo surgery to resolve his problem - and striker Jordan Robertson sits out the second game of a three-match ban.

Midfielder Robbie Gibbons hopes to retain his place after making his full debut at Huddersfield last week, while striker Connor Jennings (broken metatarsal) could play a bigger role after stepping off the bench.

Bournemouth will be without midfielder Wes Fogden.

Fogden is set to see a specialist to determine whether or not he requires surgery on a shoulder injury he picked up in training recently. However, what is certain is that the former Havant & Waterlooville man will not play for the Cherries again this term.

Carataker manager Paul Groves will be buoyed by the return from suspension of Harry Arter, who has completed a three-game ban, but striker Matt Tubbs remains sidelined following an operation on his hamstring.

Stephen Purches will not be fit until next year following his double leg break and Charlie Sheringham is still ruled with a foot injury.
