Manager Phil Parkinson praised his players after Bradford ensured their Football League survival with a 1-0 win over a Macclesfield.
The Bantams, who were in danger of the drop themselves just before Easter, have earned their survival with three wins in the last four matches - leading scorer James Hanson's 65th-minute goal proving the difference against the Silkmen.
Parkinson was particular keen to pay tribute to the Bantams defence, who restricted Macclesfield to a handful of chances.
"Guy Branston has been tremendous," said Parkinson. "Luke Oliver has carried on where he left off after serving his three-match suspension. We have made it difficult for teams to come here.
"Macclesfield came here fighting for their lives. You accept they are going to be very strong and very solid and we had to deal with that and grind out a result.
"For a manager to see his team grind out a 1-0 win is not a pretty sight, but we were the better side in the first half and in the second we had more pressure and deserved our goal."
