Swindon v Bradford preview

Swindon will check on Alex Smith ahead of the visit of Bradford.

Smith has missed the last two matches after aggravating a knee problem. If he continues to miss out then Raphael Branco is likely to keep his place in the Robins defence.

Midfielder Yaser Kasim looks to have joined a growing list of players who may not feature again this season after suffering a foot injury. Ryan Mason, Ryan Harley and Nile Ranger are already ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

But defender Grant Hall will hope to be involved again having recently made his return to action as a late substitute against Brentford after 11 weeks on the sidelines.

Bradford will have James Meredith available for Easter Monday’s clash at Swindon.

The 26-year-old defender has been out of action since breaking his foot in January, but boss Phil Parkinson has confirmed the Australian will be at least on the bench at the County Ground.

Parkinson could hand fit-again striker Aaron Mclean a start after he was fit enough to come off the bench in Good Friday’s win over Peterborough following a recent hamstring injury, but James Hanson (groin) is still missing.

Midfielder Adam Reach will make the final appearance of his loan spell before heading back to parent club Middlesbrough.

Alan McCormack is expected to be fit for Swindon.

The midfielder, who has been operating at centre-back in recent weeks, was substituted before half-time in the Robins’ 2-0 victory over Gillingham on Tuesday with a knee problem.

But the injury is not serious, and the Irishman will be available to face the Bantams.

Swindon will once again be without goalkeeper Phil Smith due to a groin strain, with on-loan Wes Foderingham set to deputise. The Crystal Palace stopper has kept three clean sheets in as many appearances since joining the Wiltshire club earlier this month.

Abdul Said is a long-term absentee with a leg injury, but otherwise Di Canio has no new suspension or injury worries ahead of the fixture.

Meanwhile Bradford manager Phil Parkinson must decide whether to recall defender Andrew Davies to his starting line-up after suspension.

Davies, on loan from Stoke, has missed the last three matches after his straight red card in the recent home win over Torquay and another loanee, Marcel Seip, has been partnering Luke Oliver in central defence in his absence.

Parkinson will definitely be without full-back Robbie Threlfall, who was forced out of the midweek defeat at Macclesfield due to a thigh strain.

Luke O’Brien replaced Threlfall on Tuesday night and should continue if the latter fails to make it.

Midfielders Kyel Reid and Adam Reed, on loan from Sunderland, are both struggling with dead legs and are likely to face late fitness tests. Jack Compton and Chris Mitchell are on standby.

The Bantams are still chasing their first league win on the road this season.
