Bradford v Coventry preview

Bradford striker Aaron Mclean has an outside chance of making the substitutes’ bench for the home game against Coventry.

Mclean has been struggling with a calf problem throughout pre-season but recently returned to training and boss Phil Parkinson is hoping the former MK Dons forward suffers no reaction.

Summer signings Alan Sheehan, Gary Liddle, Jordan Pickford, Billy Clarke and Billy Knott are all poised for their competitive club debuts in a new-look Bantams starting line-up.

Young strikers Oliver McBurnie and Lewis Clarkson (both hamstring) are not expected to feature.

Danny Seaborne (hamstring) and Andy Webster (back) are Coventry’s only injury concerns for the trip.

Steven Pressley has had to cope with the loss of leading marksman Callum Wilson to Bournemouth and promising young defender Cyrus Christie to Derby but has managed to bring in some solid reinforcements.

Experienced striker Marcus Tudgay has joined the Sky Blues from Nottingham Forest, Shaun Miller is another proven performer up front and former Leeds veteran Danny Pugh should shore up the midfield.

Danny Swanson, James O’Brien, Reda Johnson and Reice Charles-Cook are other permanent recruits, while Ryan Allsop, Josh McQuoid and Mohamed Coulibaly come in on loan from Bournemouth.
