Brentford manager Uwe Rosler insists his side will fight to the finish for a play-off place.
The Bees missed a golden opportunity to break into the top six when they held to a goalless draw by sixth-placed Notts County last weekend.
Instead they find themselves in ninth, three points behind County ahead of Saturday's trip to seventh-placed Stevenage.
However, Rosler said: "We set ourselves a 10th-place target and we're there, but while we are in contention we will not give up on the chance.
"I've been delighted with the effort of my side for the past five weeks.
"We haven't given upon it yet but Notts County and Carlisle are in the driving seat. It's up to them to lose it now, but you never know what can happen with points still to play for."
