Preston are set to hold talks with Bristol City over the possible extension of Jamie McAllister's loan at Deepdale.
McAllister's one-month stay with North End came to an end following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United - a game he missed due to a hamstring injury.
The 33-year-old left-back, who was out of action with an ankle problem earlier in the campaign, is out of favour at Ashton Gate and has yet to feature under current boss Derek McInnes.
"Jamie had a fitness test on Saturday morning but didn't make it," Westley told the Lancashire Evening Post.
"It was disappointing to lose a player of his experience so late in the day.
"With his loan, we have agreed to have a conversation with his club and him, and we'll make a decision from there."
