Top scorer Jay Rodriguez does not believe a lack of experience will hinder Burnley's Championship play-off push.

A sensational solo goal from Rodriguez, 22, earned the Clarets a deserved 1-1 draw against Peterborough and took his tally for the season to 17.

The result left Eddie Howe's side three points outside the top six with 17 matches remaining for his youthful squad to battle their way into the promotion picture.

"We've got the belief, I don't think it matters what age we are," Rodriguez told the Lancashire Telegraph. "We're playing really well so I don't think age is a factor.

"We've got a good mix, a good squad, a good belief in the team. We've got a great energy, but I think we've got the same experience as well with the likes of Duffo (Michael Duff) and Granty (Lee Grant)."

The sought-after striker added: "From the start of the season to now we've progressed massively. Of course I'd love to play in the Premier League with Burnley. It's a great club."
