Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett is keen to wrap-up a deal for Kidderminster goalkeeper Dean Lyness, who the manager has rated quite highly.

Lyness began his career at Birmingham, where he worked under current Albion coach Kevin Poole, before a spell with Scottish side Hearts.

The 20-year-old joined Kidderminster in the summer of 2011 and made eight appearances for the Harriers last season.

"Dean is someone we see as having real potential and he has worked with Kevin Poole previously at Birmingham. He's a good size and he's got good experience for his age with Hearts in Scotland and at Kidderminster," said Burton boss Gary Rowett.

"He's willing to work so we want to see whether we can get his potential out of him."

Meanwhile, defender Ryan Austin is set to move in the other direction after his contract at Albion expired.
