Summerfield: Hails massive win

Summerfield: Hails massive win

Assistant boss Kevin Summerfield praised Burton after seeing them pick up a 2-1 win at Plymouth to soar to fifth in League Two.

Argyle had taken a 49th-minute lead through substitute Paris Cowan-Hall, but Burton levelled after 74 minutes as central defender Nathan Stanton headed home from close range after a corner led to a goalmouth scramble.

The Brewers sealed all three points five minutes later when Robbie Weir swooped to head home a 79th-minute winner after home goalkeeper Jake Cole failed to hold Chris Palmer's cross.

"We were pleased to win, without doubt, but we were also very fortunate. But that's life and that's football," said Summerfield.

"Sometimes, when you draw level away from home, you can sit back, but we didn't, we levelled and then went for it and got the result.

"I don't think they collapsed, but I do think we got a grip on the game after we scored the goal, which is unusual for us because, if we go behind and then get on level terms, we have a tendency to sit back.

"We were pleased the side showed a bit of bottle to come back. We think we can be a lot better than we were - we know we can - but we still have the character within the group to roll our sleeves up and dig something out. That's a massive win for us."
