Bury boss Kevin Blackwell has turned to youth as he tries to shake things up and was rewarded with a 2-1 win at Scunthorpe.
Skipper Steven Schumacher fired the Shakers in front after 12 minutes of Tuesday night's League One clash at Glanford Park direct from a free-kick and Troy Hewitt grabbed a deserved winner in the 53rd minute after Leon Clarke's 52nd-minute strike had equalised.
Blackwell's side have embarked on a run of just one defeat in the last seven games as they battle to climb clear of the bottom four with this win, their second away success of the season.
The Shakers manager said: "This is by far the youngest team that I have ever put out in my managerial career.
"But they are learning fast. They have bounced back well after our 2-0 defeat at Colchester on Saturday.
"I was delighted with the way we played in the first half. I thought we were excellent. I thought we looked the much better-organised of the two teams."
