Bury v Plymouth preview

Midfielder Tommy Miller is a doubt for Bury’s home game against Plymouth.

Miller has had several injuries of late and his most recent one is a neck problem picked up prior to the 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe last weekend.

And, although he has been training, Miller was absent from the XI which beat Burnley in the Lancashire Senior Cup final on Tuesday.

Chris Hussey came off against the Iron with an eye problem but has had nearly a full week to recover while fellow full-back Phil Picken (knee) remains a long-term absentee.

Plymouth will be without defender Maxime Blanchard at Gigg Lane.

The Frenchman picked up a second yellow card, described by boss John Sheridan as pathetic, in the second half of Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Oxford and will serve his one-match ban against Bury.

Goalkeeper Luke McCormick is unlikely to play again this season and misses out as Argyle look to close the three-point gap between themselves and the play-off spots.

The experienced Paul Wotton looks set to feature as he closes in on the club’s all-time appearance holder. Game time against the Shakers would put Wotton on 490 games for the Pilgrims, just one game behind the legendary Sammy Black.
