Kind of feel sorry for Sparky a legend for us and out of all Fergies ex players has been the most successful in management but has never ever been considered for United top seat. I think his personality and profile affect him and was harshly sacked by City.

I agree mate. I like him too quite a self assured confident guy who did a lot in the game and you only have to look at how well and exciting Stoke are these days

I mean what makes Giggs a better candidate than Sparky. Keane, Ince and Ole have all been bigged up but failed miserably whereas Sparky has done just as well as Moyes did prior to getting the job.

Of course not Blacky as big Ed probably thinks the sponsers wouldn’t approve but can you imagine how Sparky would have got on with a £250 million budget.

I cnt believe mr van shite has spent so much and we still look like we going to struggle for top four. His responsible for his spending and his responsible for his failure.

Good shout. I would be happy to see him get a chance. If it was working out he would be there for the long term too.

That’s not a bad call that, I didn’t even think of sparky as a candidate. Ed wants us to be the English version of Real Mardid- galacticos but it has not exactly worked out thus far and I don’t think it suits our club. As much as it’s exciting with names like pep and Carlo I would love to hold some tradition and have a British manager that sees the United job as the pinical and stays as long as possible…Or maybe I’m just old fashioned and living in the past as some would say.

United_we_win would you rather we change manager every 4 years then and welcome a city or Chelsea?

I saw something different in Giggs against Norwich but no way does he have the same experience as Sparky. Just look at Gaz seeing already at valencia that management is a long learning curb. Sparky should be next in line if it is to go to an ex united legend.

So some people are leaning towards Hughes as a possible manager.
Mow if we’re going to discuss all and sundry then here’s one out of the blue.
Sack LvG and appoint Pellegrini NOW.
That would stuff up City’s chances of the title this year, and give Pellegrini the chance to stick two fingers up to the City owners after the underhand way they’ve gone about replacing him.
I know it won’t happen, but I’d like to see City collapse out of the top 4 and perhaps miss out on Pep.

Lol if you wanted British then why not rogers if you want ex United players ole or ince or even keane. Didn’t hughes manage city and failed miserable. Some people if they had a choice to choose the next coach they would get Rafa.

I dont think he did fail miserably at city, i think he was a little hard done by and for a good while (same as happened with chelsea) it was a poisoned chalice, loads of money and suddenly high expectation but to build any team capable of winning the PL and competing top 4 every year takes time as well as the bundles of cash

not sure he would be right for you but has the most experience of ex playrs, conducts himself very well and as someone says, Stoke dont just win these days they win with pretty football, sure many of you guys would suffer some better footy form an ex player as manager?

Something inside me doesn’t want to see good teams doing well being broken up. As much as I’d like to see Hughes given a shot I kind of don’t want to see Stoke go backwards as a result. Its the same at Leicester in that I hope they hold onto Mahrez and Vardy.

I think its due to years of seeing a top player move to City or Chelsea only to see their careers stop to a grinding halt. Players like Sinclair, Bony, Remy, etc

Stop being so ridiculous. This is cut throat business. If somebody offered hughes 5million a year is he going to reject it? Loll

this is true Fergiesarmy but manhistle has a valid point how much talent especially young english talent has moved to a big club and dissapeared?

Often these players are big fish in their team but the step up to world class CL squads is huge competition for places are also tougher and due to this they dont get the run in the team they would need

real shame but as you say, would take a brave man to say no to that kind of pay rise and the chance to make it a big club, just wish a few would wait a few years like Kane seems to want to
