Leeds' home clash with Shrewsbury in the first round of the Capital One Cup will bring back memories for manager Neil Warnock.

The two sides are scheduled to clash at Elland Road during the week commencing August 13, but Warnock is hoping to bring the tie against Graham Turner's League Two side forward.

"It will be nice to rub shoulders with Graham again," Warnock told the club's official website. "We go right back to his days as Wolves manager. My first league game at Scarborough was against Wolves when Graham was there and that was a fantastic occasion."

Warnock added: "You always want a cup draw at home. It's our first game of the season and it's at Elland Road which is great.

"I'm actually hoping we can play the game on the weekend before.

"Usually in these games you maybe give opportunities to a few players because they fall between your first league games, but we want to get through in the competition, so it's an opportunity for us."

The Whites boss has also confirmed that his sole interest is to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season. Warnock has only brought in Jason Pearce so far this summer and is hopig for a busy couple of weeks. Media speculation has seen a number of players linked with a move but the manager has refused to speculate keeping his cards close to his chest
