West Brom news: Semi Ajayi hands Baggies big boost after major contract decision

West Brom defender Semi Ajayi has handed the club a major boost by pledging his future to the Baggies and signing a three-year contract extension.

The Nigeria international was set to enter the final 12 months of his deal. However, he’s now agreed to extend his stay until 2025, as Albion look to build towards a promotion push next season.

Ajayi started the season on the bench under Valerien Ismael. But the 28-year-old battled back to earn a regular place in Steve Bruce’s side.

And his form during the second half of the campaign has warranted a new West Brom contract.

The report on West Brom News now claims that Baggies will now switch their focus to who will partner Ajayi in defence next term.

Ajayi moved to The Hawthorns from Rotherham in 2019 and has been a solid presence ever since.

He is respected for his leadership qualities. Although it’s the fact that he has Premier League experience that makes him so valuable going forwards.

Bruce wants to build a team that are capable of making a promotion push next season and Ajayi will be at the heart of it.
