Burton v Carlisle preview

Stefan Maletic and Mickael Antoine-Curier are back in training but unlikely to feature for Burton against Carlisle.

Defender Maletic, who had been out with a hamstring issue, is yet to play for the Brewers since joining from Achilles ’29 until the end of the season in January.

Antoine-Curier has been sidelined for a month with his own hamstring problem while goalkeeper Dean Lyness is back in training following a broken leg.

Burton will be promoted from League Two if they beat Carlisle and Southend fail to win against Newport.

Troy Archibald-Henville has been ruled out of the rest of the season after being sent off at the weekend for Carlisle.

The defender was involved in a scuffle in the dying moments of the 1-0 win over Dagenham and starts a four-match ban, which means Brad Potts could be restored to the line-up.

Manager Keith Curle is still waiting on the fitness of Jeffrey Monkana after he failed to recover from a knock in time to make the squad, but Steven Rigg is pushing for a recall after making his comeback from the bench.

Curle may be tempted to keep faith with the 3-5-2 system he adopted specifically to counter the threats posed on Saturday, meaning Paul Thirwell and Danny Kearns will have to remain patient on the sidelines.
