Reading winger Jobi McAnuff has warned Reading fans not to expect new players following their recent takeover by a Russian billionaire.
Anton Zingarevich, who bought the club using the Thames Sports Investments moniker in January, funded a deal for Blackburn striker Jason Roberts and has also convinced star winger Jimmy Kebe to stay. However, McAnuff has warned that the club will not be forfeiting their values when it comes to how the club is run financially.
"The indications we've seen early on, like Jimmy staying and players like Jason Roberts coming in, are good. For us as players it looks like we are going in the right direction and we're hoping that continues," he told the Daily Mail.
"Financially the club has been run really well and I'm led to believe that will continue. Money wont be thrown at it left, right and centre. It will be spent in a sensible and structured way."
With the Royals sitting two points off the play-off places, McAnuff is hoping the club can go one better than last year, when they were defeated in the final by Swansea.
"We probably have to leave the tag of 'little old Reading' behind. I think the club is in a different place than it has been for a long time now, with a clear objection."
