Bolton boss Owen Coyle was pleased with his side's performance in their 2-2 draw with Barcelona B in their final pre-season fixture.
After Lobato broke the deadlock with a crisp strike 10 minutes after half-time, Bolton equalised when Martin Petrov's cross was turned into his own goal by Sergi Gomez.
A tidy far post finish from full-back Balliu made it 2-1, but Marvin Sordell's close-range header in the 73rd minute earned Wanderers a creditable draw.
"You know what you will get against Barca B and we had a good shape when they were in possession," Coyle told the club's official website.
"We scored two good goals and once again rotated through the squad. We've welcomed back both Tyrone Mears and Chung-Yong Lee to full fitness, and you can see what they add to the squad.
"On top of that, Keith Andrews, Matt Mills and Benik Afobe had their first run-outs at the Reebok, and they have all settled in well. We'll be back on the training ground next week as we prepare for our season opener against Burnley next Saturday."
