Defender Tom Lees could be sidelined for at least a fortnight due to the eye injury sustained in the draw at Brighton.
The England U21 international saw a specialist on Monday evening before sitting out the 1-0 Championship reverse at Burnley.
"It's looking like we'll be without Tom for a couple of weeks at least," said manager Neil Warnock.
"He caught a finger in the eye and suffered with his vision, and it will take a couple of weeks for it to heal properly."
Skipper Lee Peltier moved to partner Jason Pearce at centre-back at Turf Moor.
