Charlton boss Chris Powell believes his new recruits can add some much-needed depth to his squad as they prepare for life in the Championship.
The Addicks completed the double signing of Lawrie Wilson and Jordan Cook earlier this week.
Defender Wilson agreed a three-year deal after a fee was agreed with Stevenage, while former Sunderland striker Cook has signed a two-year contract.
"Jordan's a young player who we feel can play down the middle, behind the main striker and out wide," Powell told the club's official website.
"I have got players who are ready to fight and get their way into the team and that will be the case with Lawrie."
