Charlton striker Michael Smith has joined Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Newport on a month's loan.
The 21-year-old has made just one appearance for Chris Powell's Addicks this season, in the Capital One Cup penalty shoot-out defeat by Leyton Orient in August.
Smith, who had a spell on loan with Accrington last season, could make his Newport debut against Cambridge on Tuesday night.
His initial loan deal runs until December 4.
