Chelsea have signed 15-year-old central defender Andreas Christensen from Brondby on a free transfer.

The youngster has already been capped by Denmark at Under-17 level and will move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Already six feet tall, the defender had been linked with a move to Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich but opted to join Chelsea.

Christensen told Ekstra Bladet: "I have chosen Chelsea because they play the kind of football I like.

"At the same time, they have the best plan for my future in football."
