Mark Yates insists his Cheltenham side are improving after edging Accrington 4-1 to enhance their chances of holding on to a play-off spot.
The Robins have struggled since the turn of the year, seeing their automatic promotion hopes disappear, but they moved four points clear of eighth-placed Crewe ahead of their visit to Gresty Road next week.
"It was a very good three good points and results have gone for us as well," Yates said. "We were quite good and we had to be because Accrington are a good side and they have some real quality players.
"Paul (Cook) has got them playing some terrific football and they'll be a side to watch next year, but we edged it and the goals came at the right times.
"We came off it a bit at 3-0 up, but I don't have a problem with that. It's nerve-jangling and people are desperate to get into the play-offs. It wasn't free-flowing but there were some good goals and we are three points closer to where we want to be with three games to go.
"We are not quite there, but we are going to get there and it was a big three points for us."
