Cheltenham will complete the signing of a left-back on Wednesday, boss Mark Yates has confirmed.
Yates has been searching for a replacement for Luke Garbutt, who has returned to parent club Everton after a successful loan spell at Whaddon Road last term.
Danny Andrew is currently the only specialist left-back at the club, but he is on the transfer list.
Yates did not reveal the identity of the new arrival but did say that he has been an admirer of the player for some time.
"We will be signing a left-back on Wednesday and it's a player I've liked for a few years," Yates told the Gloucestershire Echo.
"We might have another one in for training, but I am happy to take my time because there are a lot of players out there and I am being offered better quality players all the time."
