Cheltenham assistant boss Neil Howarth hailed Billy Jones after the former Exeter man came back to haunt his former employers.

The left-back, who made 148 appearances for the Grecians across two spells before departing in the summer, set up two goals for Keith Lowe with his accuracy from two corner kicks.

His pinpoint deliveries also led to Jeff Goulding hitting the post and Alan Bennett missing another chance.

"Exeter knew all about Billy's set-piece quality, but when he whips those kind of balls in, they are hard to defend," Howarth told the Gloucester Citizen.

"Billy is a good, experienced player who comes off the pitch looking like he hasn't just played 90 minutes."

Meanwhile, Cheltenham's on-loan midfielder Lawson D'Ath, who opened the scoring on Saturday, has been given permission from parent club Reading to feature in Cheltenham's FA Cup first-round tie with Yate Town.
