Yates hails 'outstanding' Penn

Mark Yates hailed the performance of midfielder Russell Penn after Cheltenham ground out a 1-0 victory against his former club Burton.

Penn was outstanding as the Robins controlled long periods of the game and he forced goalkeeper Mark Oxley into several fine stops.

The deadlock was eventually broken by Chris Zebroski who pounced from close range in the 86th minute, but Penn was Yates' choice for man of the match.

"Russ was outstanding and that's the best I've seen him play for quite a while and a goal is just around the corner for him," Yates said.

"I fancied him to score and his performance deserved a goal, but it wasn't to be. If he finished off all his chances he probably wouldn't be here.

"All the lads love him and he is brilliant around the place so against his old club, we did it for him and Shaun Harrad too."
