Chesterfield manager John Sheridan has expressed his delight after signing a contract with defender Terrell Forbes for one year.
Forbes has been a regular for Leyton Orient over the last two seasons, making 73 appearances for the London club before being released last month.
Spireites boss Sheridan said: "Terrell can play in a number of defensive positions and I'm delighted he's joining us as he's a player I wanted to sign a couple of seasons ago."
Forbes, 30, started his career with West Ham, helped QPR to a promotion and has had spells at Grimsby, Oldham and Yeovil.
