Cook: Wants reward

Cook: Wants reward

Manager Paul Cook was in no mood to take heart from Chesterfield's encouraging display as they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Bristol Rovers.

Sam Togwell's early own goal was cancelled out by Mark Randall's 20th-minute free-kick before Joe Anyinsah fired Rovers back in front.

Spireites substitute Brennan Dickenson levelled again for the visitors but impressive on-loan Bolton striker Tom Eaves fired home with the aid of a wicked deflection, which wrong-footed goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell, 10 minutes from time to give Rovers the points.

Cook said: "Defeats hurt and I am not the sort to talk about taking the positives when we lose.

"We think we are a big club in this division, but big clubs don't keep losing and we have to work even harder to improve. Any neutral would say we deserved something from the game, but we are where we are in the league for a reason.

"Our supporters were fantastic and it's time we started to give them the results they want. We have good players but we have to do better as a team."
