League One outfit Colchester are taking a look at French-born Togo international striker Thomas Dossevi, formerly of Swindon.
The French-born Togo international, 32, is training with the U's on trial as manager John Ward continues his lengthy search to boost the club's attacking options.
Ward has been thwarted in his attempts to set up a midweek friendly for Dossevi, who parted ways with Swindon by mutual consent last April having scored three goals in 31 appearances after arriving on a free transfer in August 2010.
"Thomas is a French boy, who played for Swindon," Ward told the Green'Un. "He's just come in for two or three days to train with us. He has paid his own way.
"I was asked to have a look at him, and I have done. He's a free agent and we will see how he goes.
"We tried to get a game on Monday or Tuesday for him but we have not been able to do that. We may have to chat to him about what he wants to do. He's got some experience, he's 32, so he's been around a little bit. He's been doing alright in training."
