TEAMtalk blogger Matty Briggs is next to unveil his predictions for the 2012-13 season - and feels Lukas Podolski will prove to be a Prem flop.

Premier League top six: Manchester City, Manchester Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham.

City are the champions and they look set to retain their crown despite only adding Jack Rodwell to their ranks. After toppling United last term, Roberto Mancini's men will go for the jugular once again and I fully expect them to come out on top. United have added Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell to their ranks, but I can't see either making a big enough impact to turn the title race in their favour. Chelsea have drafted in a raft of midfield signings and Oscar and Eden Hazard look like exciting talents and if they can click quickly they could make a bold bid for the title, but they're likely to trail in third. Arsenal have made a couple of shrewd acquisitions in Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud and they should fit in nicely, while Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool revolution should see them finish closely behind in fifth spot. Tottenham, under the guidance of Andre Villas-Boas, will make up the top six.

Premier League bottom three: Norwich, West Ham, Reading.

Norwich were terrific last season, but losing Paul Lambert will be a hammer blow and they look set to struggle in their second season in the top flight. While pre-season results should not be taken too seriously, the Canaries have been worryingly lacklustre in their warm-up games and they could find the going tough. West Ham and Reading both won promotion from the Championship, but neither side has strengthened significantly and they could well return to the second tier at the first attempt.

Leading Prem scorer: Sergio Aguero

The diminutive Argentinian was a smash hit last season and he's the bookies' favourite this time around and it's hard to see past him. Nothing has changed at The Etihad and I expect Aguero to be amongst the goals again this time around with his team-mate Carlos Tevez on his coat tails.

First Prem manager to be sacked: Steve Clarke (West Brom)

Clarke strikes me as a brilliant coach, but might just struggle to be as effective as a manager. I know Dan Ashworth takes on a huge behind-the-scenes role at The Hawthorns, but I still think Clarke might have bitten off more than he can chew in charge of the Baggies and I expect him to be gone shortly into the New Year.

Biggest Prem flop: Lukas Podolski

The German international has been on a downward spiral for a while and the reported £11million that Arsenal paid Cologne for his services look like being a waste of money. Podolski was non-existent at Euro 2012 and has been struggling to find the form from his Bayern Munich days.

FA Cup winners: Manchester United

With Manchester City expected to set the pace in the Premier League, United will be forced to put more emphasis on the FA Cup and they look primed for Wembley glory.

Capital One Cup winners: Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers will be eager to win some silverware at Anfield and Liverpool look set to retain their League Cup crown.

Champions League winners: Real Madrid

The decision of Jose Mourinho to stay on at Real will be a massive boost to the men from the Bernabeu and they look well equipped for an assault on Europe.

Europa League winners: Atletico Madrid

I'm going for a Madrid clean sweep of the European trophies.

Championship top six: Wolves, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bolton.

Leading Championship scorer: Kevin Doyle

Had a quiet season for Wolves as they were relegated from the top flight, but he remains a classy frontman and should be back amongst the goals in the Championship.

League One champions: Carlisle

Cumbrians boss Greg Abbott has done a sound job at unfancied Carlisle and this season might well be the season they put together a promotion challenge - at a decent price too.

League Two champions: Bradford

It could be viewed as blind optimism from myself as a Bantams fan (and probably is), but I think they have a genuine chance this season under Phil Parkinson and 20/1 looks like a bit of value.

SPL top three: Celtic, Dundee United, Motherwell

Celtic look nailed on to win the SPL without Rangers, and Dundee United and Motherwell will be left to scrap it out for second spot.

SPL top-scorer: Gary Hooper

Hooper is odds on in places to top the goals chart and it's hard to oppose the former Scunthorpe frontman.
