TEAMtalk rates the Chelsea and Manchester United players from Sunday's top-of-the-table Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

CHELSEA

Petr Cech - Left exposed by poor defending for first two goals and could do little for the third. 6/10.

Branislav Ivanovic - Rightly sent off for denying Ashley Young a goalscoring opportunity. 4.

David Luiz - Still lacks confidence when not partnered by John Terry. Can count himself unlucky to have an own-goal against him, though. 5.

Gary Cahill - Constantly given the run around by Robin van Persie. 4.

Ashley Cole - Poor first half, but improved after the restart. 6.

Ramires - If Chelsea had two of him in deep midfield they would be phenomenal. Good header for goal. 7.

John Obi Mikel - Still looks short of quality in the top games. Passing very poor at times. 5.

Eden Hazard - Had a shot that just sneaked wide, and earned the free-kick which led to Chelsea's second. 6.

Oscar - Another impressive performance from the youngster. Caused havoc just behind Fernando Torres. 7.

Juan Mata - Chelsea's shining light once more. Scored a brilliant free-kick for the Blues' first and played a big role in the build-up to the second. 8.

Fernando Torres - Did not deserve to be sent off for his 'dive', but was still generally awful. His passing and finishing were sub-par, except for a well-saved second-half header. 4.

Substitutes:

Cesar Azpilicueta (for Oscar 66 minutes): Brought on after Ivanovic's dismissal and played well. 6.

Ryan Bertrand (for Mata 72 minutes): Surprising introduction given that Mata had played so well. Was steady enough when he came on, though. 5.

Daniel Sturridge (for Hazard 82 minutes): Looked good when he came on. Should have been introduced for the woeful Torres earlier. 5.

MANCHESTER UNITED

David De Gea - Made some very good saves, although he seemed to prefer making them with his feet. 8.

Rafael - Effective performance down the right for the young Brazilian, who set up Javier Hernandez for the winner. 7.

Rio Ferdinand - Started off the move for United's second goal and coped well with the boos that greeted his every touch. 7.

Jonny Evans - Was lucky to get away with clipping Torres as he raced through. Almost scored an own goal in the first half. 5.

Patrice Evra - Effective but not outstanding. 6.

Antonio Valencia - Supplied a pin-point pass for Van Persie for United's second and was a menace throughout. 7.

Tom Cleverley - Looked good at times but his concentration wavered. 6.

Michael Carrick - Another who floated through the game without making a telling impact. 6.

Ashley Young - Lively return to the team, raising hopes the winger could return to his best form. 7.

Rooney - Again delivered well in his midfield role, but lost his temper to give away the free-kick that led to Mata's goal. 6.

Van Persie - How Chelsea must wish they had him up front. Looked up for the game from the start and was a menacing presence throughout. Took his goal well and probably deserved another. 9.

Substitutes:

Javier Hernandez (for Cleverley 65 minutes): What a player to have at your disposal from the bench. In the right place at the right time to tuck away United's winner. 7.

Ryan Giggs (for Rooney 74 minutes): A calming influence in midfield to help United seal the game. 6.
