Andy Thorn wants the opening game of the season away at Yeovil Town to be the beginning of a fresh start for his relegated Coventry side.

The Sky Blues were relegated from the Championship last season, dropping down to the third tier for the first time since 1964.

Back-to-back home matches against Sheffield United and Bury follow the trip to Huish Park, and Thorn believes those games in quick succession at the Ricoh Arena could prove vital.

"You always look forward to the fixtures coming out and I'm no different so looking at it now I'm looking forward to the new season and getting pre-season underway," he told the club's official website.

"Hopefully this is going to be a fresh start for everybody and hopefully we can get our season off to a good start.

"I think two home games in the first three and so early for us will be good for us because of how we built up our home form towards the end of the season last season. We want to build on that and do it as early as we can to get ourselves off to a good start," he added.
