Crewe manager Steve Davis insists his side will not let the weather affect their preparations for their local derby against Port Vale.

The Alex's home game against Accrington was one of many games called off last weekend and, despite freezing temperatures forecast again this weekend, Davis will continue to prepare his side for the Vale game.

"We all don't want to miss games because it is what you train for and look forward to all week. All you can do is prepare the same as if the game is going ahead," Davis told the club's official website.

"It is frustrating when weather comes like this because it does affect everyone. You just have to get on with things and we are lucky here that we will always have a place to train and work with the facilities we have at the club."

Meanwhile, Davis also confirmed trialist Jordon Brown could return to the club following a misunderstanding between parties after the left-back's trial finished last week.
