Dagenham & Redbridge first-team coach Wayne Burnett felt his side showed "great character" to come back from behind to beat Rotherham 3-2.

Danny Harrison volleyed in the opening goal for Rotherham after 29 minutes, but the Daggers turned the game around when Jon Nurse headed in after 50 minutes and Abu Ogogo's shot deflected in off Mark Bradley 12 minutes later.

The Millers, who had Michael Raynes sent off with two minutes remaining, levelled almost immediately through Alex Revell, but Scott Doe headed in Cristian Montano's corner at the near post in the 79th minute to win it for Dagenham.

Burnett said: "We didn't start particularly well, they were by far and away the better team in the first half. We changed it midway through the first half, we started 4-3-3 and went 4-4-2 and I felt that worked better. We made a change at half-time and that made all the difference."

Burnett added:

"It was a different game in the second half. We were more like us, we put more pressure on them. It was always going to be a tight game, but we were fortunate enough to get the winner.

"When you're not playing particularly well and like we know we can, to push forward and get another goal, I think the boys have shown great character."
