El-Hadji Diouf has extended his stay at struggling Championship side Doncaster Rovers until at least the end of the season.

The forward's new deal keeps him at the Keepmoat Stadium until June 1 and he also has the option of staying for another season in Yorkshire.

Diouf confirmed he rejected other offers to stay at Rovers to help in their bid for Championship survival.

"I got a lot of offers from places far away from here, but my kids go to school here," he said.

"That's not the only reason I've decided to stay though: I enjoy playing football here, I have good communication with the manager and the fans like me here too."
