Dean Saunders is enjoying the new-found solidity in his relegation-threatened Doncaster Rovers side.

Rovers, who remain five points adrift of safety in the Championship, are currently usurped by only Ipswich and Nottingham Forest in the goals against column, but one conceded in the last four league games represents real progress.

"We have got back into the pack where if we win two or three games we are out of trouble and I think we had to win seven when I first came here," Saunders said.

"We have had three clean sheets in the last four game so I am really pleased with how they have applied themselves.

"In the past, if the football wasn't working they had nothing to fall back on - it was just one of those days. But now if the football isn't working, if the weather is bad, the pitch isn't very good we have got something to fall back on, we've got a bit of steel about us."
