Doncaster return to League One after a four-year absence with a visit to Walsall on the first day of the 2012/13 season.
The Banks's Stadium is the destination for Dean Saunders' relegated Rovers on August 18, with the return leg pencilled in for February 9.
South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United welcome Doncaster to Bramall Lane on September 18 before making the short trip to the Keepmoat Stadium on New Year's Day.
Saunders' men visit Oldham on Boxing Day with another north-west club Preston providing the opposition at Deepdale on December 29.
The Easter schedule sees Ronnie Moore's Tranmere come to town on April 6 before League Two play-off winners Crewe welcome Rovers to Gresty Road on April 13.
The campaign concludes with a home clash against Notts County on April 20 and a last-day trip to take on Brentford at Griffin Park on April 27.
