Tisdale: Looking to the positives

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale felt he could take several positives from his side's performance against Bury in the FA Cup.

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale felt he could take several positives from his side's performance against Bury in the FA Cup.

The Grecians lost the first round tie 1-0 courtesy of a first-half goal from Efe Sodje, who was then sent off after an hour.

The loss extended Exeter's winless run to six matches but Tisdale said: "We were very deflated because we desperately needed to win and we leave with nothing.

"I thought we did everything we could have done. We have to get our reward at some point.

"We started the game slow but that's where we wanted to build on our game and performance, and numerous times we've done well at it. We gave it a real good go second half. How we didn't get a goal I don't know. I'm very disappointed, but I take heart from how we played in the second half.

"The players had a lot of freedom and a lot of fight, we played with so much vigour."
