Wigan FanZone commentator Mike Roby is hoping his team get their own back against Spurs...
Time for the Latics to step up says FanZoner Mike Roby
With only 13 games left and the taste of the World Cup extravaganza looming, Wigan need to pick up some points sooner rather than later. We have Chelsea last game of the season away and after securing our first top four win against them this season, I'm sure they would take great pleasure in sinking a few past us on a sunny afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
I find it quite remarkable that we are not clear of danger considering how we are playing and the amount of chances we are creating. Our problem lies up front and the whole team needs to step up to the plate and take on the challenge.
New signing Moses is yet to settle with him making an appearance against Bolton for only 10 minutes. McCarthy is definitely the success story so far for Wigan as he consistently puts in quality performances. He will be pivotal against Spurs on Sunday.
It is great to see that the worst team in the world (Bolton) are staring relegation in the face and I would like to propose a toast to their relegation. The sad part is yet again we couldn't take our chances on Wednesday night after beating them in all departments over the 90 minutes and coming away with just a point.
Rodallega has been guilty of missing some crucial chances namely against Stoke away when he missed a last-minute penalty that would have secured three points. Far too often we have been faced with the same situation this season as we look back in frustration at our missed opportunities.
We will not have the luxury on Saturday of creating vast amount of opportunities but we owe these boys a good game, and I have every confidence Wigan will deliver. Nothing short of a win while roughing them up will satisfy the Wigan faithful.
Martinez will be working hard to unlock the Tottenham defence and mastermind our revenge...
We didn't deserve what happened earlier in the season but that's football you just have to get on with it. Sunday presents an opportunity to deliver some pay back and I will be doing all I can in the FanZone booth to shout that ball into the back of the net.
It will be a great game with the mighty Wigan coming away with the spoils. 2-1.
