Chelsea FanZoner Luke Liddy reckons Mohamed Salah can develop into a world-class player if he can improve his consistency at Stamford Bridge.
With the clock winding down on the January transfer window, it would seem as though Mohamed Salah will be Chelsea's last winter signing.
The 21-year-old Egypt International, who has been handed the number 15 shirt, will bolster our attacking ranks following the departures of Kevin De Bruyne and Juan Mata.
Salah will undoubtedly be feeling a great deal of excitement after putting pen to paper for Chelsea, however, he will also be under a huge amount of pressure following his high-profile move from FC Basel.
He is the first Egyptian player to sign for a top European club, and has signed almost directly after the departure of Mata to Manchester United.
Add to this the fact that Salah will now be playing for one of the most demanding managers in world football, and you can start to understand just how daunting a task this is for a young footballer.
However, if Salah is to become a top player, he must overcome these pressures and adjust to life at a top club.
There is no doubting that Salah possesses great physical attributes. He has pace in abundance, as well as good ball control, high pass completion averages and a fine left foot.
At just 21 years of age Salah is already an integral part of the Egyptian national team and helped guide them to a World Cup play-off against Ghana, scoring six goals in as many games during the qualifying stages.
That said, Salah lacks overall consistency in his game at club level. He has a reputation of spurning goalscoring opportunities, and can go missing in games.
These negative aspects to his game should, however, improve with time as Salah matures as a player.
Mourinho is a perfect manager for Salah to work under, if he is willing to commit to Jose's tactics and work hard for the team.
The Chelsea boss obviously sees something in Salah and believes that he can bring the best out of the young Egyptian. His main task will be turning him into a consistent performer.
As a Chelsea fan, it is quite exciting to have another talented young player join the club. If Salah can improve on his mentality and discipline under the guidance of Mourinho, there is no reason why he can't blossom into a world-class player.
