FanZone's Spurs blogger Nik Wardle believes it is not just Gareth Bale who deserves the accolades for Tottenham's recent impressive form.
Much has been made of Gareth Bale's goals and performances lately - and rightly so. However, he's not solely responsible for our current good run of results.
When we've needed that bit of something extra late in recent games, AVB has always called upon 'Big' Jake Livermore. When we needed a goal against Lyon, Big Jake came on and we got one. When we wanted one point to turn into three against West Ham, Big Jake came on and we did. When we needed things shoring up against Arsenal, Big Jake came on and did his duty.
Now, I'm not suggesting that it's Big Jake alone who's responsible for our strength late in games, but AVB may want to bear him in mind if we need continue to need something late on in games for the remainder of the season.
Things are looking promising but there's many rivers still to cross before we can start planning trips to the Nou Camp et al. It's Liverpool away next in the league, and the game is so much more than a showdown between probably the two best players in the league this season: Luis Suarez and Big Jake. (Only joking.)
Liverpool have been scoring rather a lot recently and we'll need to display the defensive discipline we showed against Arsenal. It could well be much like the West Ham game, though, where teams need to focus upon outscoring each other.
But, if we need a goal late on - ABV knows who to call upon.
