Stevenage blogger Dean McCullagh passes on introductions and heads straight to predictions.
Boro will be fearsome opposition with Westley at the helm
After a record breaking 2009-10 season, expectations are high at the Lamex Stadium and not just from the fans.
The management team over the last 18 months have drilled a real belief in every player, club official and anyone else that would care to listen to them, that this club is going places and no matter who we play, regardless of reputation, stature and form, we will take three points off them.
You wont find any fears at this club, talk to the manager Graham Westley - dubbed the non-league Mourinho, for his crass no-nonsense approach.
He, like all the fans, will fully expect us to win the first game of the season and then follow it up by compiling more misery on Portsmouth, dumping them out of the League Cup, live on the midweek TV game.
The beauty about the upcoming season (and the part that I'm looking forward to the most) is that nobody knows who we are and can't see us coming to get them.
The bookies have written us off, most football sites and publications can't decide between them whether we are Stevenage FC or Borough and regularly post reports with faults (I saw one the other day with a picture of a Torquay player, under the headline Stevenage Untied change their name!).
And fans of League Two clubs are looking aimlessly at maps scratching their heads as to where we are!
Mark my words though, and get ready to quote back to this very blog, for come the end of May, when we've taken the division by storm, are promoted to League One in our first-ever pro season and managers across the country are queuing up to throw accolades at our doorsteps, I will be one of the first to say 'I told you so!'
So can Stevenage really make an instant impact? Or are you still looking at your map trying to find them? Let us know by filling in the feedback form below.
