Germany manager Joachim Low has admitted the better team won as England triumphed 2-1 in Berlin on Wednesday.
Both teams gave fringe players a run out, but it was The Three Lions who triumphed thanks to a late winner from John Terry.
Substitute Patrick Helmes cancelled out Matthew Upson's first half opener, but Low had no complaints about the outcome of the contest.
"The Englishmen were better over the entire game," he stated. "We had a bad day at the office and earned the defeat.
Big problems
"Only in the second half did we find our feet, in what was our best phase of the game, but we had big problems in terms of organisation and structure.
"You could see England getting stronger and we didn't take our chances when we had them.
"We didn't find our shape on the pitch, were badly organised and lost possession much too often.
"England have got a lot better since the European Championships and we didn't have the ability to beat a team like them on the night."
Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger stated Germany's display on the night was simply not up to scratch.
"We did not produce our best today, but England also tactically played very well," said Schweinsteiger. "We were simply not good enough."
